While most children are playing or studying, these children are cooking with firewood in a refugee tent — just to survive another day.

 

Right now, there is no place on Earth more devastated by hunger and hardship than Gaza.

According to the United Nations, Gaza has become the hungriest region on the planet. Millions of civilians — mostly women, children, and the elderly — are struggling to survive amid relentless airstrikes, with no access to food, clean water, medicine, or electricity. Over 85% of the population is unemployed. Malnutrition among children has surpassed emergency levels. Nearly one-third of Gaza’s people are now on the brink of famine.

Aid Delayed in the Line of Fire

In May, Israel allowed around 100 UN humanitarian aid trucks to enter Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, carrying flour, baby formula, and essential medicine. But most of this aid never reached the people who need it.

Why?

  • Roads remain unsafe due to ongoing fighting and airstrikes.

  • Some distribution points were targeted or hit by warning fire, causing panic and casualties.

  • Aid agencies report severe restrictions and delays in access, with many trucks stuck at the border or diverted.

The UN and multiple humanitarian organizations have warned that this is a man-made humanitarian catastrophe, and that it could be prevented — if safe and consistent access for relief aid is guaranteed.
